Daily life can often just feel like a flip of a
coin. Seems we can have some influence on the
path of our lives but not enough to ever really
relax. It’s just part of life.
But it is your coin. You get to flip it. That’s
the attraction of choosing self-reliance.
That said, there are some strong
government and corporate forces that want your
coin. Their explanations are seductive: more
security, more resources, more stuff, more
protection, more inclusion. The list goes on.
So you’re faced with a decision on how much
self-reliance do you want.
Do you do it yourself or let others do it for
you? The truth is, they don’t do it for you.
They do it at you. Give them your decision-
making power and they will use it to benefit
themselves. Even when you think you’re part of
the their group.
Self-reliance can seem daunting. It can feel
like every part of your life and the life of the
family you choose is up to one person: you. But
that is not true. Everyone has relationships,
both family and chosen, to help. Self-reliance is
not choosing to go it alone. Self-reliance is
making it your choice, your decision, on how to
live your life with those around you. Your coin
to flip.
The problem with large governments and
corporations is that they want more and more
authority over your life. Your coin. And always
they want your resources, whether it’s your time
or your money.
Life can seem like it is a flip of a coin and it’s
often hard to not see it that way. But it’s your
coin and you always have a choice. Do I keep it
and flip it myself or do I give it to some
government or corporation and let them be in
control of my life?
Your life. Your coin.
My life. My coin.
